PRUE LEITH CBE has been at the top of the British food scene for nearly 60 years, not only as the founder of the renowned Leith’s School of Food and Wine, but also as caterer, restaurateur, teacher, TV cook, food journalist, novelist and latterly, of course, as a judge on the “Great British Bake Off”.
We are thrilled to welcome Prue to Stroud Book Festival for this mouth-watering event in which she looks back on her life in food, and discusses how the way we eat and what we eat has changed in that time. She will tell us all about “Prue: My All Time Favourite Recipes”, her first cookery book for 25 years, and how it was inspired by her time on GBBO, sharing with us some of the intimate and witty stories she has woven around her recipes for delicious, fuss-free dishes she has cooked countless times for family and friends.
“I was tempted to make this book a mission about sustainable, healthy food”, she says. "But since this is a tour of my life in food, I could hardly leave out all the creamy, booze-laden dishes from the past I still love. On occasion, anything is forgivable”.
