WE ARE SORRY TO ANNOUNCE THAT DANNY DORLING IS BEING POSTPONED. WE WILL BE RELEASING A NEW DATE SHORTLY.
It is easy to list reasons to be miserable right now. The USA under Trump appears to be out of control. The UK is slipping under its influence, leaving many measured voices in the EU behind. There was no master plan for events to all play out like this. However, in this talk Danny Dorling argues that the USA and the UK had become the two most economically unequal large countries in the world by 2016.
Inequality makes for bad politics; but when we look more widely geographically or historically we can see reasons to be optimistic. Before gross economic inequalities fall there is usually disaster. What matters now is to limit the size and duration of this disaster.
